Put on означает надеть одежду, обувь и т. п.

Put off означает перенести или отложить что-либо на более позднее время.

Put away означает убрать предмет туда, где он обычно хранится.

Put out означает потушить огонь, свечу или сигарету. Обычный электрический свет обычно turn off, а не put out.

Put down может означать положить предмет или записать какую-либо информацию.

Put up with означает терпеть неприятного человека, ситуацию, шум и т. п.

Put up может означать установить или повесить что-либо, например палатку, плакат или знак.

His sister laughs and says she cannot put up with Leo's cooking anymore. Leo sighs and says he will just put up a sign in the kitchen: "Leo is not allowed to cook."

One evening Leo decides to clean his room. He puts on some music and starts working. First he puts away his books. Then he puts away his clothes. Then he finds his old toys and decides to play. Cleaning is quickly put off. Two hours later the room looks worse than before. His mum walks in and looks around. She slowly puts down her coffee. "Leo," she says, "I cannot put up with this mess anymore." Leo smiles and says, "Don't worry. I will clean it tomorrow." Mum sighs. She knows Leo will try to put off the cleaning again.
